So, this piece was inspired by the song Firefly or Fireflies by Owl City. It's an interesting piece, and the picture was originally suppose to reflect on the second verse of the song. I listened to it again and it could also relate to the first and second verse. If you listen to the song you can decide which best describes.

Planet Earth.

This is suppose to be a Finger Print Scanner. Not sure if it will work. Hope it does.

Alright, so above is a few tutorials that I have followed on a few sites relating to Photoshop. Each took a few hours and was slightly changed during the process of finishing. I'm currently working on my own piece right now, using the knowledge that I have gained so far. I hope that you like each of them, it did take a bit of work and I personally think that I've gained more experience from completing them.

Work Term Projects 2

This was another project that I had to do to finish my hours to graduate. It was my job to create a display case for the Truro Public Library for their 45th Book Fair. The case contained books, a tree that information was placed on, blades of grass with reading/book quotes on them, a book worm, flowers with inspirational words, a sign and falling leaves that had classic novelists on them.

This was part of the my work term experience. I was to create a logo for a local company that just started up. They drive people around the HRM to different places who don't drive or need to get to an appointment. They mostly drive people to the hospital.

This was part of my work term experience. I was to recreate the NSCC campus for a project they plan on doing. I modeled and textured all the buildings and created some plant life that they would like in the courtyard at some point during the project. Below are images taken from the Maya file.

2nd Year 3D Animations

So, this was our first lipsync. We could choose to take any clip we would like. Mine was picked from Eurotrip from the character Cooper. I will admit that it's inappropriate near the end, but I was proud of the work.

This was my final lip sync. It was to be used, if we so choose, in our final 3D animation. The clip is taken from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. We were to use our own character and create the shapes so we can create the lip sync.

Using our character design we had to model him/her in Maya. Once created we had to make them walk. His name is Timmy, and I brought him to life.

We had to take a rigged character given by the teacher and do three different walks. Two were given, and we had to do a Mad and Sad walk. The third was optional, which I did a strut.

Year 2 DIAN Illustrations (second semester)

For this we needed to do the same painting but have two different lighting tones. I was bored so did 4. This was one if not the only truly original (without references) digital painting I did. People have said that it looks like something to be in a children's book. Who knows, maybe someday.

Our first Illustration for our second semester. We had to do Ariel Perspective, so a lighthouse was the thing that first popped in mind. It was also for my cousin who lives in Calgary. She wanted a picture, so hopefully she enjoyed it.

A yurt. Need I say more. We did have one in our project studio for a few months. I was impressed with this, it was a bit difficult though.

We had to do a portrait of ourselves, or of someone else. Thought that if I did a portrait of Genghis Kahn that it could get put into M5. A lot of time was put into this painting. It was without a doubt one of my most detailed digital paintings.

An illustration that was also used for the M5 project for the Discovery Channel, but again it was turned down. I used charcoal in Corel Painter with a variety of blenders.

I took an image off the internet of the Great China Wall and did a cross hatch over top of the image in Corel Painter

A winter scene for a local fundraiser for the New Media Festival. It was used for a Christmas card.

This was my final for Illustration my first semester. It was also for M5, which is a production on the discovery channel. It was turned down.

This is one of our first illustrations in our second year. It's called Fly Away Home. I really enjoyed doing the clouds and the sunset.
